Well, the ol’ Book of Faces is back on its bullshit. I’m on a 30-day ban for ‘inciting violence’ by talking about self-defense in my group, so there’s that… I guess while I’m stewing, I’ll be spending more time in here and on my newsletters letting you all know what’s up.
As for what’s up, I’ve got a lot going on and happening all at once right now.
First of all, the manuscript for Bourbon & Blood and my first foray into the world of the Voodoo Bastards MC is completed and has been shipped off to Mary for editing.
In case you missed anything about this one; it’s dark. Much darker and far grittier than I have ever written before. Murder, mayhem, sex, and sorrow – it’s a definitely interesting dichotomy of light and dark. There’s a lot more about it here on the site. The blurb and a couple of little sneaky peeks as I do…
The cover is gorgeous because as always, Dar Albert of Wicked Smart Designs has really outdone herself. I’m looking forward to doing more in this world, and making it a series… but I’m thinking’ I’m going to be taking it slow with this set of books. Besides, I have a bunch of other shit going on… like…
Charity for Nothing is finally available on Audible and on iTunes to listen to! You can reach either one of your aural fixation poisons of choice via Charity For Nothing’s landing page here. I can’t tell you how fantastically Ms. Bambi Orlyn captured Charity’s personality in this one. It was frightening at times just how inside my head she was at certain points with tone and inflection. As always, Bob Carter’s performance as Nothing was absolutely sublime, and I really can’t wait for those of you who are audiobook enthusiasts to hear this – so if you’ve been patiently, or even not-so-patiently waiting for this, it’s out now and available for you to grab!
Finally, what’s the next big thing? I went back and forth on whether or not to do Tic’s story next or to work on another Virtue’s book as has become my Summer tradition as of late. I decided after writing Voodoo Bastards, which originated in the Virtues series, that Virtues was the way to go and so Lightning’s Honor is it! I actually started this one by the prologue and a little into the first chapter before I started Bourbon & Blood, so I’m going to go back and finish that up, and then maybe I’ll get to Tic’s story if I don’t bounce back over to New Orleans first.
So that’s about all I have to report for now.
This weekend, I am headed to Romance in the Carolinas out there in Winston-Salem, NC, and when I get back? I should be back on my spooky bullshit as I hear Winston-Salem is quite the haunted town. In fact, I’m lucky enough to be staying in the purportedly haunted Historic Brookstown Inn for this one, so I’ll let you know how that goes.
Until next time,
XoXo,
A.J.
